Wingtra Ray

The Wingtra Ray stands at the cutting edge of aerial surveying, engineered for those who demand relentless efficiency and uncompromising data quality and is by far 9 Line Aerial Media's "flagship" drone. This VTOL powerhouse can cover up to 1,360 acres (550 hectares) in a single 59-minute flight, thanks to its industry-leading 61MP full-frame camera and advanced RTK/PPK positioning that delivers absolute accuracy down to 3 centimeters. The Ray’s tailsitter design means you get the best of both worlds—vertical takeoff and landing for tight sites, plus fixed-wing endurance and cruise speeds up to 49 mph. It’s Blue/Green UAS listed, so it’s government-approved for secure operations in 98% of U.S. airspace, and its integrated parachute system offers an extra layer of safety for peace of mind and regulatory compliance. Built to thrive in tough conditions, the Ray shrugs off sustained winds up to 27 mph and delivers photorealistic maps and dense 3D models in record time. From massive construction sites to complex municipal projects, the Wingtra Ray is more than just a drone—it’s a fully integrated, end-to-end mapping solution that transforms how you capture, process, and deliver mission-critical geospatial data.

Wingtra Map61 Payload

Why do we use the Wingtra MAP61 payload? It’s all about delivering high-resolution 3D mapping and large-scale surveying results that our clients can actually trust and put to work. The MAP61’s 61MP full-frame sensor and wide 93-degree field of view let us capture photorealistic detail and dense 3D point clouds in a single pass, which means we spend less time in the field and you get your data faster. With horizontal accuracy down to 2 centimeters and vertical accuracy to 4 centimeters—using PPK and no need for ground control points—we’re able to deliver survey-grade results even on the most complex or challenging sites. The low-oblique configuration (17mm lens, 15° tilt) is perfect for urban environments, construction corridors, and land management projects, allowing us to map boundaries and features right up against buildings and trees. Each flight covers up to 1,140 acres (460 hectares) at 120 meters altitude, and rapid VTOL deployment means we can be up and running almost anywhere. Every deliverable is ready for seamless CAD and GIS integration, so your project workflow stays smooth and efficient. Whether it’s mine modeling, urban planning, or creating digital twins for infrastructure, the MAP61 is in our toolkit because it helps us deliver the quality, speed, and confidence our clients expect on every mission.

Wingtra LiDAR

At 9 Line Aerial Media, we choose the Wingtra LiDAR payload because our clients deserve the highest standard in geospatial data. This system allows us to tackle the most demanding surveying projects with confidence, knowing we can produce exceptionally dense point clouds up to 660 points per square meter in high vegetation, and also maintain vertical accuracy as tight as 3 centimeters at 90 meters altitude. The XT32M2X rotating laser scanner, combined with a tactical-grade IMU, gives us the precision and reliability needed for everything from hard-surface mapping to dense foliage and complex urban environments. With each flight covering up to 930 acres (380 hectares), we can complete large-scale surveys, corridor mapping, mine planning, and digital twin creation efficiently, without sacrificing data quality. Triple-return capability ensures we capture every critical detail, while integrated GNSS with PPK support locks in survey-grade precision for every deliverable. All of our data is delivered in standard LAS and LAZ formats, ready for immediate CAD and GIS integration, so our clients can move projects forward faster and with total confidence. The Wingtra LiDAR payload is a key part of our toolkit because it empowers us to deliver actionable results and a true competitive edge to every client we serve.

Emlid RS3

Emlid Reach RS3 GNSS Receiver

At 9 Line Aerial Media, we rely exclusively on Emlid GNSS receivers to deliver the highest level of accuracy for our aerial mapping and surveying operations. Our Wingtra system uses a robust PPK workflow, which means both a high-performing base station and a rover are essential for locking in survey-grade precision. That’s why we deploy the Emlid Reach RS3 GNSS Receiver both as our base and as a rover in the field. This advanced receiver enables us to capture exact locations of underground utilities marked by JULIE, as well as critical surface features like B Boxes, manhole covers, fire hydrants, and other fixed infrastructure that matter to engineers and municipal planners. The RS3’s tilt compensation ensures we get reliable measurements even when access is tight or surfaces are uneven, and its rugged build and long battery life keep us productive on long days in the field. By using only Emlid products, we guarantee that every geospatial deliverable meets the highest standards for accuracy, supporting confident decision-making for urban development and infrastructure projects.
